Frik De Meyere has built his career on seeing potential where others may not. From a small village in Belgium to the vibrant coastlines of Belize, his professional journey has spanned continents, industries, and markets. Today, as the founder of Prime Belize Real Estate, he is helping buyers and investors discover the value and opportunity within Belize’s dynamic property sector.

In a farming village near Belgium’s border with the Netherlands, Frik’s early education took place in Ghent and Antwerp. There, he earned degrees in information technology and emergency medical services. His passion for business led him to further his studies, completing an MBA at Flanders Business School and another at the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago.

Frik’s career began in Europe, where he gained leadership experience across several industries, including real estate development, information systems, cosmetics, food production, and construction. Over a decade, he led and invested in over twenty startup ventures—many later merged with or acquired by larger companies. In parallel, he managed the construction and sale of more than one hundred residential units, providing him with extensive experience in property investment and development.

His introduction to Belize came in 2004 during a business scouting trip with his partner, Ilse Van Keer. Frik immediately recognized the long-term opportunity in Belize’s emerging real estate market and acquired properties. In 2011, he and his family moved to Placencia, Belize, where he joined BMA Real Estate.

At the time, BMA was a small firm handling fewer than fifteen property transactions annually. Frik contributed significantly to the company’s expansion. Over the following decade, the firm grew to more than twenty professionals, and annual transactions surpassed one hundred. Under his leadership, BMA also built a strong reputation for luxury listings, such as private islands and high-end beachfront properties, attracting buyers across North America and Europe.

By 2023, Frik was ready to take the next step. He partnered with trusted colleagues and local agents to launch Prime Belize Real Estate. Officially opened in January 2024, the firm was designed to provide greater flexibility, faster client service, and improved market visibility. Today, he leads the company’s sales and business development, overseeing a diverse portfolio of offerings that include land parcels, luxury villas, and fully developed private islands.

In addition to his work in real estate sales, Frik has developed other ventures that support Belize’s property ecosystem. He founded 501properties.com, a real estate classifieds platform, and launched Placencia Storage, Belize's largest storage rental facility. Alongside Ilse, he also opened Chillpoint, a coffee shop, ice cream bar, and wine lounge that has become a popular community hub in Placencia.

Frik is also deeply engaged in community life. As a naturalized Belizean citizen and Justice of the Peace, he supports local education, sports, housing, and public safety efforts. With Ilse, he has fostered children and adopted a daughter—creating a life in Belize and a true home rooted in service and family.
